Where: In person on the Upper West Side
When: Wednesdays, 7:15–9:45 p.m., September 23–November 18, 2026
Tuition: $850
Tuition includes:
Nine weekly in-person sessions
Two workshop turns per writer
Up to 30 double-spaced pages per submission, 60 pages total
Written instructor feedback on both submissions
Verbal feedback from the full workshop
Focused craft lessons, close reading, and generative exercises
One private conference with the instructor
Enrollment limited to 8 writers.
Who the Workshop Is For:
Fiction writers who are actively working on a short story, collection, or novel and who want rigorous, generous feedback.
No prior publication or MFA is required.
What We Do:
The class combines close reading, generative writing, focused craft instruction, and serious manuscript discussion.
Over the 9 weeks, each writer receives two dedicated workshop sessions and may submit up to 30 double-spaced pages for each. Every submission receives an editorial letter and in-manuscript comments, with the option of a one-on-one conference afterward.
Short stories and novel excerpts are welcome.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the workshop is full.

Who is the instructor?
Lauren Green, author of The World After Alice(Viking/Penguin, 2024) and Trust Issues (forthcoming). Her stories and poems have appeared in Virginia Quarterly Review, Threepenny Review, American Short Fiction, Sewanee Review, and elsewhere. She holds a B.A. from Columbia University and an MFA from The Michener Center for Writers at UT Austin.
